The Mini Showdown

Wild Bunch Round 4 and Real Steel Round 6

Saturday 16th July '05

Saturday.

After 18 months of racing and only a couple of family visits, Team Twisted managed to pull in a bumper crowd of spectators on what turned out to be a very sunny July weekend. Ranging from siblings to brother-in-law's brother-in law's daughter, all areas of family and friends was represented. Additional photo's in this report are courtesy of our good friend Rob Gregory of Magic Moments Photography.

Saturday was practice day and our first run was at just gone twelve, running 10.35 at 123mph. This was exactly where we wanted to be for the weekend and we looked forward to the next pass which netted 10.37 at 118mph.

After lunch and spending time with our friends we ran our third pass, 10.27 at 126mph. The new spectators were really enjoying the racing and the Road Zombie jet dragster made a few more fans as it hurtled down the track.

The day was rounded off with our last pass against our good friend Sarah in Bernie's "Destiny's Angel" altered. Great to see an all girl altered race and The Belle recorded a slightly slower 10.49 at 127mph.

A purple pit with a plethora of people...

Dean's Mum, Frances tries the Belle for size.

After the racing, it was time to once more celebrate Dean's graduation. Helen and Chris decorated the pit and provided drinks and munchies for all the Bunchers, family and friends who would attend through the evening. Thanks to everyone who came and joined in the celebration.

Thanks to Claire and the Backdraft crew for the decorations, and to The Wicked Lady team for the fantastic fluffy dice which now have pride of place in Thomas the Transit.
